National City Train Depot

Well...it's safe to say that we have become experts on all things trains in San Diego and this weekend was no exception!  We took Sloane down to the National City depot...home to an old train station and some vintage train and trolley cars Sloane could climb on.
Sloane loved walking around on the trolley cars and checking out the old railroad tracks.

There is also a model railroad set up inside.

This girl LOVES watching trains...any and all.
The original safe still stands in the old station manager's office.

The back room has a Thomas the Train wooden set that Sloane was very excited about!

Doing her best "the trolley is coming!!!!" face.

Train adventures are the best adventures these days.

First Real Train Ride!

For a little belated Mother's day fun we took Sloane on her first real train ride up to Encinitas...and she LOVED IT!
 Happy Mimi's Day!
 Here it comes!

She loved watching all the trains and "red choo choos" (trolleys) pull in and out of the station.
 Then our train arrived!
The smile of a very happy passenger!

She even got to meet one of the conductors!

Saying "bye bye" to the choo choo in Encintas.

We walked around downtown Encinitas and had breakfast.

Then, we headed over to a nearby playground.
 Sloane especially loved the seesaw.

Back at the station waiting for our train home!

Baja Bound!

After planning a trip to Mexico this summer we realized Sloane would need a passport.  We had a blast taking her down to the county office building to apply and get her picture taken.  She's now and official international traveler!!  The apple doesn't fall far...
Here she is getting her passport photo taken...and waiting to be called in for application review.
The county administration building has an amazing playground outside...so we couldn't help but stop to check it out!
She was loving the big girl swing!

Fun family time...can't wait to get a few stamps in her passport!
