All Aboard!

Brian and I both have the fondest memories of riding the train at Balboa Park as kids.  We couldn't wait to take Sloane for her first ride and last weekend we did!  She seemed to enjoy herself almost as much as Brian and I did!

Well we did it...we made the decision to put Sloane in cloth diapers...and I have to say it is going great...and they are darn cute!

Meeting New Friends

Our dear friends, Aaron and Emilee Girvan welcomed their son, Hudson Gregory, on January 1, 2014 and we drove up to meet him when he was just one week old.  They don't know it yet...but he and Sloane will be the best of friends.

Our friends Joe and Janell welcomed their son (yep-Sloane is surrounded by boys), Landon William, on February 12, 2014 and Mommy and Daddy were lucky enough to go and visit him in the hospital the day he was born...just like Joe and Janell did when Sloane was born!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Believe it or not...it was one year ago on Valentine's day that we saw Sloane for the very first time and got to hear her heartbeat...so special.  My how things change in one year!

Sloane's First Zoo Trip!

In an effort to make the most out of my last few days of maternity leave we took Sloane to the World Famous San Diego Zoo!  She seemed to enjoy walking around in her Bjorn and looking around at all the animals...although I think she was mostly people watching.

 There is a brand new baby giraffe at the zoo right now...so cute...and Sloane could totally relate!

 ...they put Sloane right to sleep!

Balboa Park

In an effort to make the most out of my final days of maternity leave we have been trying to do something fun everyday and take advantage of living in San Diego where it is 70 degrees out in the middle of January.  So, we took Sloane to Balboa Park.  

 We began by having a picnic near the botanical gardens.

 Then we took a stroll through the park and visited the artisans at Spanish Village.

Wow! Four months has flown by!

I can't believe its been four months...its actually been four and a half months!  I just hung her 4-month picture in her nursery today and I just can't believe how time really does fly!

Here is Sloane's 4 month picture...and it suits her perfectly...she is such a smiley happy baby right now and we are having so much fun with her!  It seems like everyday she has a new skill.  

She is now...

...grabbing her feet...and sometimes putting them into her mouth...

...doing tummy time like a champ...and rolling over...

...grabbing and holding things...which always end up in her mouth!

 She loves Sophie the giraffe so much...she even likes to dress like her!

Slowly beginning the path to sitting up on her own in her Bumbo seat!

So...her eyes are still bright blue and the doc says they will stay light...

...but still a waiting game to know the final color.
